"Thank you!" the doctor yelled after the soldiers... When he was sure they were gone he turned to Creygor. "Now, how's about rescuing your friend?"

Creygor seemed shocked. He knew this man had planned something, but he didn't think it was anything like that, he'd barely known her for long anyway...Still, he was greatful for his company and apparent compassion.
'Yeah, but really, how? I mean...I think i can get us back in unseen...but...what are we gonna do from there...?' He asked cautiously, he knew the longer he waited, the more tormenting it would be for his friend, but they couldn't just go rushing in...

"Ah, see those people from the guard gave me a secret weapon" he said, tapped the side of his nose and smirking. He opened the TARDIS doors andhe and Jenny went inside... He then stuck his head out. "Well, are you coming in?" he said, a mocking impatience in his voice.

'Wha...I...er...' Creygor gave up answering and followed him inside, instantly awed by the size of the inside. 'Woah...what the...what IS this...' He gawked...

Meanwhile...

Lothein pulled his sister by the arm back to her 'room' as she futiley struggled against him.
'I just don't get it, why do you fight her Brett?' He asked, calling her the name they had made when they were years younger.
'cuz otherwise I'd be dead right now, big...brother...' she snarled as she glared up at him, the dark rings that had formed beneath her tired gaze shadowing her eyes in the darkness.
'But why are you so reluctant...Why did you rebel from her in the first place? If you just obeyed her wishes there would be no need for this senseless beating trying to drum the same lesson into your head...What will you ever gain from nearly getting killed...?'
'At least when I try...I get a tiny sliver of the freedom you will never feel...' She hissed at him as her silvery eyes gazed into his own. Despite how much they tried to break her, there still remained a small spark inside of her, and although he'd never admit it aloud, Lothein was stunned by her sheer determination. He sat her down in her 'room' and went to lock the door from the other side when he paused for a moment.
'It kills me you know...to see you like this each time...' Lothein whispered quietly as he gazed at the stone floor.
'Then why do insist on always being the one to take me back down here each time...?' She asked, a small sign of honest curiosity in her voice. He didn't reply at first as he locked the door and made his way up the steps they had come down.
'Because it is the only way I can ensure you are still alive...' He whispered to himself quietly...

"Ok... I need some kind of biological signature... her DNA... Any ideas?" the Doctor said, looking at Creygor. Jenny was worried, that was REALLY likely... not...

'I...er...what...what do you mean...? I mean...we were fighting earlier...but i don't have either of the sticks we were playing with...though she did...' He blushed a little as his ramble died down. '...umm...'

Meanwhile...

'I'm not going again...' She slurred as she tried (and failed) to glare at the guard that had come for her again.
'You don't have a coice, orders are orders.' He said without a hint of regret or remorse, despite the state of the girl in front of him who seemed to find it hard to stand up at the current moment.
'Screw orders...' she slurred as she tried to grab his sword. Simply he put his hand down on the hilt to stop her and he rolled his eyes at the pathetic attempt. Suddenly she smirked and pushed his hand up unexpectedly, causing his risen elbow to smack into his own nose with unexpected force. A quiet crack went through the room as his nose broke and blood dripped over his lip.
'You devil, no wonder your mother abhors you...' he growled, before he struck her across the head and drug her back upstairs. Once in the great hall, he threw her to the floor at her mother's feet once again.
'Wonderful of you to join us once again Tabbrett...' the woman smiled, before she grimaced and called a nearby servant over. 'I'm going to need a mop and bucket ready for afterwards...I'm sure the floor will need a good clean...'

"She...?" The Doctor enquired.
"What did she do?" Jenny said, finally feeling it didn't matter about manners so much...
"You need to tell us, even if it's embarrassing... Judging by how that woman was treating your friend, it might just save her life..." The doctor said, looking Creygor right in the eye.

'Well...it was during the fight...and I was beating her..and she tricked me...cuz I thought I might of hit her too hard y'know so I went to see if she was ok...and she surprised me...cuz she...kinda...kissed me...it wasn't long or anything...it wasn't like it was a proper one or anything...it was just so that she could knock me on the floor and win the game...it made all the children laugh...and it was so embarrasing...and...it was also....' His rambles died down again as his blush increased. For him, he was admitting one of the most embarrasing moments of his life to two strangers he'd only met a while ago...it was no surprise he was so wound up over it...

Meanwhile...

Tabbrett groaned as she tried to pull herself up from the floor again, but her arms felt like molten lead and her focus was hazy as she tried to get a look at the woman standing before her.
'Are you willing to respect and obey the rules of my household now?' She asked, with a smile that seemed all too fake upon her face. Tabbrett simply groaned as she spat a patter of blood at the woman's feet from her mouth. 'I'll take that as a no then...' and her world burned red.

"A kiss! Perfectomundo---why did I just use that word!? I HATE that word... Anyway..." he pulled a tissue from his pocket and pressed it to Creygor's mouth. "Thank you!" he said and he put the tissue in a dish like thing so the TARDIS could scan it. It found the DNA signature and identified a map of the castle like structure. "Oh dear... She's back in the hall..." The Doctor knew that meant she was probably being punished again... "If we wait until she's back in a cell, or a small room... We can get her alone and take her quickly..."

Creygor's eyes widened as he pressed the tissue to his mouth then stuck his tongue out' 'blech...what was that for...and how do you know she's in the hall...this is all so wierd it's unbelievable...' Creygor rambled as he watched the Doctor work with a look of bewilderment upon his face.

Meanwhile...

'...ebody come and clean this mess before it dries!' Her mother's voice resounded in her ears repulsively loudly as Tabbrett forced her way back to consciousness. She was suddenly aware of a pair of hands jerking her to her feet and pulling her away from the hal and the repulsive smirk upon her mother's twisted face.
'I'm sorry it has to be this way...' Lothein whispered as she realized it was him dragging her. She made no reply, and for a moment he feared the worst, but as he caught a glimpse of her eyes, he still saw it, that small surge of flame of spirit in there. Although by now he knew she was tiring of keeping it up, and if the horrific nightmare didn't end soon then...he dreaded to think of the alternative...He may not outwardly show his love of his sibling, but it did not mean he wanted her to die...least of all at the hands of the monster known as their mother.
'I'm sorry...' he apologized again as he sat her in the small room. 'I'll be back with something to drink as soon as I can...' he whispered, as he locked the door behind him and disappeared back upstairs.

"Right, nows our chance!" The Doctor said, pushing a lever. The TARDIS whirred to life and as it stopped, he rushed out of the door to see the bleeding Tabbrett. He ran out to her and picked her up. "We're here to help..." He whispered to her and ran back into the TARDIS. He closed the door quickly and set the controls to Bannerman Road again, leaving Tabbrett in her friend Creygor's care...

Creygor's eyes widened at the state his friend was in when the Doctor rushed in with her. He had seen things like it before but never so...well...so extreme...and it shocked him. He drew her into his arms the moment the Doctor put her down, and tred to be cautious of the wounds she may possess.
'Tabbrett...' he whispered quietly, unsure if she could hear him. 'Tabbrett...can you hear me...?'
'uhn...uhnor...creyhnor...' she murmured quietly.
'Close enough,' he smiled gently as he brushed a strand of blonde hair from her face with a tenderness he never knew he possessed. He glanced back up at the Doctor. 'What do we do now? Where are we going?' He asked, keeping the desperation from his voice as much as possible.

"To another world... Another planet... Probably another time... Somewhere she can never be harmed by her dreadful mother again..." The Doctor explained. "Hold on!" he said as the TARDIS jerked into action.
They soon arrived, and the Doctor peeked out of the door to make sure it was right. "Good..."
Sarah Jane's car was in her drive-way. He ran to the door and banged on it desperately.

Creygor looked nervous as the Doctor left the TARDIS abruptly. Another planet? Another world? It sounded like a dream opportunity to escape for the two of them, but that didn't make it any less frightening as to what it could be like...But still...This man had helped them greatly so far, so surely it couldn't be too bad...So with a quick glance, he lifted Tabbrett into his arms, minful of the painful groan that emnated from her as he did so and followed the Doctor...

The Doctor heard a cry of "Luke! Could you get that! Luke!" from inside the house, then a quiet murmur of "sometimes I wish he was less normal..." as the door opened to Sarah-Jane's slightly annoyed face which then turned slightly brighter at the sight of her old friend.
"Doctor? What are you doing here?"
"Well... Originally it would've just been a social call, however..." He looked at Creygor quickly and Sarah- Jane followed his gaze. Seeing the bleeding Tabbrett her eyes widened.
"Goodness! Get her inside!" Sarah- Jane said, stepped aside. The Doctor went over to Creygor and ushered him through the door. Jenny followed and the Doctor locked the TARDIS quickly and followed them in. "Put her on the sofa..." Sarah- Jane said and the Doctor took Tabbrett carefully from Creygor and laid her on the sofa. Sarah Jane rushed out of the room.

Creygor's eyes simmered with worry when the Doctor took her from him again and he knelt on the carpeted floor beside her.
'...uhn...' she groaned again, in a state between sleep and awake.
'Shh...it's gonna be ok now...you're gonna be ok...' he whispered quietly as he took her hand in his. He had never seen her so vulnerable before...She had always been the strong one, the brave one...the reckless one at times...Even when she got hurt she never seemed too bothered before, it was one of the reasons they enjoyed their play fights so often...But now...It was such a strange experience for him...And in all honesty, it scared him to the core...

Sarah-Jane came back in and started to tend to Tebbrett's wounds. When she looked up she saw Jenny.
"Oh,hello! Who are you? The Doctor's new companion?" she asked politely.
"Well... Actually I'm his daughter." Jenny blurted and the Doctor simply sighed.
"Oh, really? I thought all your family were..." Sarah Jane said to the Doctor...
"They are... She was born from my DNA, not exactly natural parenting... Guess we've got something in common..."
"Again... Both have children that weren't actually born by... normal means..."
"Yeah..."

Creygor just looked confused at their conversation as he hovered around near Tabbrett. He felt rather nervous around this new stranger. The man seemed to know her well, but it didn't help his agitation.
'She's going to be ok...right...?' He whispered quietly...to no-one in particular...

Sarah-Jane looked at Creygor and saw the worry in his eyes. She smiled warmly.
"She'll be fine... She just needs looking after... Why don't you all stay here a while? At least until she's better..."
"That'd be nice." The Doctor said immediately. He knew Jenny was about to decline... Jenny didn't really know Sarah- Jane either...

Creygor refrained from sighing in relief at Sarah Jane's words...Although he knew he couldn't be sure of them, it still helped alleviate some of the worry to hear the words from someone else.
'Thank you...' he replied quietly as he watched her tend to Tabbrett...This is how a mother is supposed to be...He thought sadly...They should care for their children, like this woman was doing so willingly for her...Not working so much that they had no time for the family like his mother...Not willing to hurt their flesh and blood to the brink of death like hers... He felt tears build up in his eyes and he hastily blinked them away as he tried to rid his mind of such thoughts. But he was sure that, to an extent, a small part of it...if only the image of her lying there...would haunt his memory forever...

"Right... Just let her rest now... Don't force her to wake up. If she wakes up, she wakes up, but it's best to let her rest..." Sarah- Jane said, putting a hand on Creygor's shoulder.
"I'll go and prepare the guest rooms." she said, standing up and leaving. "Luke! Luke!" she called as she ascended the stairs. "Help me prepare the guest rooms!"
"Why!?" came Luke's reply.
"Why do you think!? We have guests!"
"Oh! Ok!" Luke called, rushing to help.

"She'll be fine, Sarah- Jane is my trusted friend. I've know her for years... Decades even... We can trust her..." The Doctor said. "By the way, what are your names? We never asked."

Creygor foced himself to look away from Tabbrett's sleeping form and he looked at the Doctor.
'I...'m Creygor Tartugan...and that's...my only friend...Tabbrett...Tabbrett Regan...' He said quietly as he looked down at the floor solemnly. 'I...I think I...' he paused for a moment before he continued. 'I think I'll go and find something to keep me busy...let her rest and all...' He murmured as he walked from the room.

Jenny nudged the Doctor.
"I swear he was gonna say something else dad..." she whispered and he nodded in agreement. "Go talk to him!" she urged and the Doctor looked at her in shock.
"What? Why?"
"He's a guy... He's under strain... You're a guy... You're under strain... You can relate... You can help each other get through your problems..."
"I don't... Have problems... Do I?"
"Dad, you're constantly lonely, and if you aren't then you're worried the people around you will get hurt!" Jenny explained. This made the Doctor think... He sat there, silent again... Jenny was the only one who could do that... Make him speechless... He sighed finally.
"Fine, I'll go..." he said. Jenny had been giving him 'the look'... The look that said "Go or I will make your life a living hell..."
And with that, the Doctor stood and left the room to follow Creygor.
"Creygor! Wait!" he called down the hall.

Creygor wandered down the hall of the strange house, staring at the floor as he walked, silently pondering the odd sense of material under his feet rather than stone for once. It was an odd sensation for sure, but so was the other feeling on his mind. He was startled from his thoughts going any further as he heard the Doctor call him and nearly ended up on the floor after walking into the nearest doorframe by accident. ...I'm too used to open air and high stone archways... He thought as he rubbed his forehead with a small grunt of bewilderment. He turned as he heard the Doctor approach.
'What is it?'

"Sorry if this is... intrusive... But it seemed like you were about to say something else before... And I was wondering if something was the matter..." he asked.
He was also worried that was a pathetic excuse for asking how someone was... He'd never really been good with emotions... You only had to ask Ro-
His head lowered as he thought of her, and a tear seemed to slip down his cheek... As soon as he realised this he tried to wipe it away, but it was already half way to the floor by then. He wiped the tear stain on his face quickly and cursed himself in his mind...
